Luck has got NOTHING to Do with it!

I just got back from my parents house last night. Shilpi and I had a great time connecting with family.

Whenever I visit my parents I constantly hear about how “lucky” I am to be rich and successful. That they’re a lot of people struggling out there and it’s a good thing you’re “lucky!”

Well, you know what?

LUCK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Sure, people get lucky. They win the lottery, or they may stumble upon a hot niche market and make some money for a while. But it NEVER lasts if they don’t have the proper skills, habits, and belief system to create LONG TERM wealth and success.

95% of lottery winner are dead broke after 5 years, even people who’ve won large sums, like ten of millions.

Getting lucky will get you no where, on the other hand, working on YOURSELF and getting rich in your mind FIRST (on the inside) will eventually lead to real long term riches riches on the outside.

Jim Rohn has a great saying “Work HARDER on yourself, than you do at your job.”

Come on, do you want to get lucky with one affiliate campaign and make some money for a while, or do you want sustained long term success?

“But Amit, you read all these books and do all this personal growth stuff. That sounds like a lot of work!?!”

BETTER GET BUSY THEN.

    Amit,
Nice change here just text. Though I like the videos a lot, they keep buffering a lot. Probably you need to compromise on the quality a little. LOL.

“But it NEVER lasts if they don’t have the proper skills, habits,….”
That sums it up. I believe I work hard and am willing to work hard, but need some hlep with certain skills and people like you are trying to fill that gap.

Hey Amit, how to contact you again. I promise I won’t spam you, if you want it to be private, you can email me.
    Thanks.

    Hi Amit.
Was at the ppc class in Vegas. I kind of like where google is going by making people work and be relevant. I am learning the code for websites, video upload, article marketing, social networking, ppc techniques, seo techniques, proper time management, dealing with the damn computer and it’s relentless software abuse(to me). Anyway, the point is that when I decide to outsource I will be able to communicate effectively and the skills I am learning are an asset to me and my company. For the get rich fast stuff, sure I buy some stuff on hope, but I always go back to the beginning or where I left off on the other things I bought to use and to learn from. You are an example of hard work and having the right mind set, which is I will not give up!
    Regards,
    mark
P.S. Good evaluation on the relegion blog, I could tell that decision you made was a difficult one and one that you should have not been forced to make.

  3. Hi Amit,

AMEN brother on this post. Success is just another word for work, persistence, and faith. Sprinkle in some some blood, sweat and tears… and people just say its LUCK.
Thanks for sharing your travels and life with all of us.

    Onwards and Upwards,
    Anthony

  4. I bet – One day you will realize that luck plays a vital role no matter what you are doing.

Amit believe me, you are not the one who is working hard, reading books, doing meditation, and calculating things wisely. There are so many other people who are working harder then you.

Why few people fails and few succeed doing the same amount of work, Its not all about hard work my dear friends,

I bet – ne day you will write somewhere here that

    YOU ARE LUCKY………

though i don’t believe that everything is run by your stars.

Yep, luck has a lot to do with one specific event – buying a good ticket, finding a great offer to promote on the internet.

the investing in yourself, especially the mindset/self-improvement effort will yield dividends for the long term.

so in a nutshell, the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t has a lot to do with their short/long term vision – a lot more than just goals, because it has to be coupled with action too.

  6. There is nothing more frustrating than family members being skeptics and thinking anytime you reference the internet it is a “get rich quick” scheme. Doesn’t help that my Uncle shows up to my parents house every holiday and shares the next MLM can’t miss where he will make 50k a month without lifting a finger, as my father (Doctorate Special Education) and mother (RN), listen to him. I have too many friends and family with the mindset that you have to work for IBM for 40 years. Working for a search engine Lycos.com for 5+ years really opened up my eyes with what can be accomplished globally online.

  7. With that said, we believe in the Law of Attraction and we refuse to let this negative energy enter our lives very often unless it is forced on us.
We used to have days where we would say “I can’t wait for the day to prove them wrong and earn more money than any of our friends”, but we quickly realized that this was an unhealthy way to focus on our desired goals. Pernicious attraction will only impede as we progress.

Amit, though you think there is Lucky ! being at the right place and the right time is Luck inmo.

  9. Thank you for being an inspiration!!
